Andrés Gómez Tato

Andrés Gómez Tato holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Santiago. He also worked in various IT companies, including SERMATICA, CESATEL, and Unisys Spain. Later became the Director of the R&D Department at TROMOSA, a company in the metal sector.
In 2001, he joined the CESGA as the Head of the Department of Applications and Projects. There, he combines user support with the design of CESGA’s infrastructure and research and development projects. He heads the Quantum Computing activities at CESGA, where he supervises a team of 11 full-time members and oversees all initiatives related to Quantum Technologies.
He has contributed to numerous R&D&I projects, including QuantumSpain, the Complementary Plan for Quantum Communications, NEASQC & GRAVITEQA.
Currently, he is focused on improving CESGA’s quantum computer (QMIO) and advancing distributed quantum computing. Through his leadership, CESGA has emerged as a prominent institution in the field of quantum computing.
